While sitting isn't the most exciting activity known to man, it does have one thing going for it: it's extremely easy to do. You barely need to train for it. You see a chair, you lower yourself into it, and you're participating in one of humanity's oldest and least demanding traditions.

Looking at art, on the other hand, is arguably one of the more exciting things you can do. At least if you ask me. And if you ask me whether sitting on art would make sitting more interesting and exciting, my answer, at least when it comes to Muddycap's chair designs, is yes. Absolutely yes. No hesitation. I would 100% sit through a serious meeting in one of these, as a power move.

Muddycap is the pseudonym of a South Korean artist and designer who creates surreal chair concepts that look like they were created after a normal chair upset them with its functionality. So instead of politely accepting the standard four legs, a backrest, and a lifetime of being covered in my laundry, Muddycap turns furniture into the sort of thing you'd expect to encounter in a dream after falling asleep with Cartoon Network on.

You get the idea. And in my head, the idea sounds something like: "DigiChair, Digivolve… DIGIGAMINGBENCH!" although that wasn't on CN.

Just imagine gaming on a game-controller sofa. Or knitting on a knitting chair, not one of those functional, practical knitting chairs designed by people who use phrases like “ergonomic support,” but a chair that looks like the concept of knitting got ambitious. Or feeding pigeons while sitting in something that's equally prepared to fly away, steal a fry, or demand a tiny bread crumb.

These aren’t chairs that blend into the room. They’re chairs that make the room a gallery.
Sure, a regular chair does its job. But so does a spoon, and nobody has ever walked into a house, pointed at a spoon, and said, “Okay, I need a minute with this,” although modern art galleries have a bunch of weird stuff happening inside them.
